Fellowship Senior Living
Basking Ridge, New Jersey - To strengthen their viability and marketability, proactive CCRCs are responding to what the next generation is saying it wants: walking distance to state-of-the-art fitness centers, restaurants, shops, salons, theaters, performing arts and cultural programs, wellness and personal training programs, and other amenities that enhance their health, independence and help them to stay connected to the greater community.
Fellowship Senior Living is in the process of adapting its health care and social environments in response to these market conditions and consumer preferences. An important first step is the addition of a new auditorium in the heart of the community and the renovation of major community spaces.
Fellowship CCRC has a population of 450 residents and an increasing demand for programs. The existing 80 seat multipurpose room is inadequate both in capacity and technology. Coincidentally two regional performing arts organizations are looking for a home venue for their presentations. Collaborating with these organizations and a team of theater design specialists, KDA has designed a state of the art auditorium that will provide the setting for the presentation of high quality and diverse programming in an appropriate setting. Designed for flexibility, the auditorium has 140 retractable seats with the capacity for an additional 100 floor seats to accommodate large productions and events. The retractable seating allows for an entirely open floor for banquet seating.
As part of this project, the main community spaces will be renovated to complement the new auditorium and bring in more daylight to a new great room and lounge. The auditorium lobby is adjacent to the bistro and its wood curtain wall allows views to the community green, the main entrance, and the entry porches and an intimate garden courtyard.
The administration suite will also be expanded to consolidate operations and provide space for FSL’s expanding community outreach programs.
